GTA 6 cheats will there be any?
Rockstar hasn’t said a word about cheats. Every GTA since the first one had them. Here is how they worked, and the list goes up on launch night, tested on a console, code by code.
Series history
How GTA cheats worked before
| Game | Year | How you entered them | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA III · Vice City · San Andreas | 2001–04 | Button sequences on the controller, typed words on PC. | No achievements existed yet. Saving with some cheats on could break a save. |
| GTA IV | 2008 | Dialled as phone numbers on the in-game phone. | Cheats used in a session block some achievements. |
| GTA V | 2013 | Button sequences or phone numbers (1-999-…); typed in a console on PC. | Trophies and achievements are off for the rest of that session. |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | 2018 | Phrases typed in Settings → Cheats, unlocked through newspapers and story progress. | Many cheats turn off saving and trophies while active. |
| GTA Online · Red Dead Online | 2013– | No cheats. | — |
The pattern since 2013: cheats stay in story mode, they cost you trophies for that session, and GTA 5 had no money cheat. If GTA 6 follows GTA 5 and RDR2, expect invincibility, weapons, wanted level, vehicle spawns and weather, not cash.
How this list works
Tested, or it’s not on the list
Before launch, every “GTA 6 cheats” list you find is made up, recycled from GTA 5, or a leak nobody can check. This page lists nothing until the game is out.
- A code goes on the list only after it has been entered and worked on a console, with the date it was tested.
- Button inputs are shown for both the DualSense and the Xbox pad.
- What a cheat does to trophies and achievements is checked, not assumed from GTA 5. The full list: GTA 6 trophies.
Game not starting at all? That’s a different page: launch-day fixes.
FAQ
Before you ask
Will GTA 6 have cheats?
Rockstar hasn’t confirmed it. Every mainline GTA since 1997 has had cheat codes, and so did Red Dead Redemption 2, so the odds are strong. Online modes have never had them.
Do GTA 6 cheats disable trophies?
Not known until launch. In GTA 5, entering a cheat turns trophies and achievements off for the rest of that session; RDR2 does the same for many cheats.
How do you enter cheats in GTA 6?
Not known until launch. GTA 5 took button sequences during gameplay and phone numbers on the in-game phone; RDR2 used phrases in a Settings menu.
Are there cheats in GTA 6 Online?
Rockstar has never allowed cheats in GTA Online or Red Dead Online, and there is no sign that will change. Anyone selling “online cheats” or mod menus is selling a ban.
Are there GTA 6 money cheats?
GTA 5 never had a money cheat. Ignore videos promising one for GTA 6 before launch.
