What actually changes
The four biggest differences
A new state, not a new city
GTA 5 had one city, Los Santos, and the countryside around it. GTA 6 is set across Leonida, Rockstar’s take on Florida: Vice City plus the Keys, swamps and smaller towns. Whether that makes the map bigger is still a guess; compare the estimates on the 3D map.
Two leads instead of three
GTA 5 let you switch between Michael, Franklin and Trevor. GTA 6 follows a couple, Jason and Lucia. Rockstar has not said how switching between them works.
Current consoles only
GTA 5 came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 and was re-released twice. GTA 6 skips older hardware entirely: no PS4, no Xbox One, and no PC at launch. That is why the install size and the preload calculator matter more this time.
A higher price, and two editions from day one
GTA 5 launched at $59.99. GTA 6 costs $79.99, with a $99.99 Ultimate Edition and a pre-order bonus pack. What the extra $20 gets you.

Is GTA 6 bigger than GTA 5?
